About
Who we are and what we're building.
Tool For School is a school operations platform built to solve the daily operational challenges that Student Information Systems were never designed to handle. Founded in 2025, we focus exclusively on real-time workflows during the school day: dismissal, custody, communication, and student movement.
We serve schools across Texas, helping districts eliminate operational chaos, reduce legal liability, and give parents the real-time visibility they expect. Unlike traditional EdTech vendors, we don't try to replace existing systems β we integrate with them and handle what they can't.
Based in The Woodlands, Tool For School is an independently funded startup. We're focused on building sustainable, essential infrastructure for K-12 operations rather than chasing hypergrowth or trying to 'disrupt' education.
Simple, factual, clear.
Our Team
The people building Tool For School.
Alex Stanin
CEO & Founder
I spent two years in education before spending nearly two decades building software at S&P Global, Waste Management, Accenture, and a string of AI startups in healthcare and linguistics. In 2018, my kids started school β and I started watching dismissal happen from the parking lot, staff make custody calls from memory, and parents deal with systems that were never built for how schools actually run. I knew exactly what was broken and exactly how to fix it. Tool For School is the result.
Andrew Mash
Lead Designer
Andrew brings over a decade of UX and product design experience across enterprise software and consumer-facing applications. Before joining Tool For School, he led design at several B2B SaaS companies, where he developed a strong conviction that complex operational software doesn't have to feel complex to use. At Tool For School, Andrew owns the end-to-end design system β from the staff-facing dashboard to the parent-facing mobile experience β with a relentless focus on clarity, speed, and zero training required.
Nina S.
Product Manager
Nina has spent her career translating messy real-world workflows into clean product requirements. With a background in EdTech and B2B operations software, she joined Tool For School to own the product roadmap across all six modules. Nina spends significant time in the field β visiting schools, shadowing dismissal coordinators, and interviewing administrators β ensuring every feature shipped reflects how schools actually operate, not how we assume they do.
Julia Z.
QA Engineer
Julia is the last line of defense before anything reaches a school. With experience in test automation and quality engineering at high-stakes SaaS products, she brings a methodical, edge-case-first mindset to a platform where failures have real consequences β a missed custody flag, a student released to the wrong person, a notification that never arrived. Julia owns the full QA process at Tool For School: automated regression suites, end-to-end scenario testing, and pre-release sign-off across web and mobile.

What Drives Us
The principles that guide our work.
Safety First
We build tools that reduce legal liability and protect students through automatic enforcement, not staff discretion.
Operational Focus
We solve daily operational problems, not long-term strategic ones. Dismissal, custody, communicationβthe urgent, visible, chaotic parts of running a school.
SIS Partnership
We complement existing Student Information Systems, never compete with them. Integration over replacement.
Modular by Design
Schools pay for what they use. No forced bundles, no bloatware, no vendor lock-in.
